Absurd! YouTube Censors Videos Again: Vaccine Views
YouTube is at it again, censoring videos once again. YouTube has been found to be targeting videos talking about vaccines whether they are for or against them. YouTube claims that these types of videos are not the ones suitable for the YouTube community and target “dangerous misinformation.” What do you think? Are YouTube censors right in what they are doing? YouTube has been known to censor other videos in the past. YouTube is a private company and can do as they please, but this censorship case calls into question YouTube’s actual motives for removing these videos from their platform.

YouTube is a platform, not a publisher. YouTube has the legal right to censor its content because YouTube is not considered either of these things. YouTube is not considered a publisher because YouTube does not produce any of the content, they are merely providing an online space for people to publish their work onto YouTube’s platform. YouTube is also not considered a platform because YouTube does not own the copyright to the content that is upload onto YouTube. YouTube provides an opportunity for users who have uploaded material onto YouTube to be either in partnership with them or to create accounts in order to maintain ownership. Furthermore, YouTube doesn’t have control over what comments are left on videos or what people post as part of their video description.
