Starlink when it was first starting out and even now I believe, was stating that Starlink subscribers will get double-digit pings around 50 or so which is pretty damn good. In practice, however, it is very rare for me to see pings under 100-150ms. I love Starlink because it’s 100 times faster than my previous provider but the ping it provides is not that great. So hardcore gamers that require a lower ping, id hold off at least for now.
I’m supposed to be getting fiber internet again here soon(ish) which will be great.
Starlink will never be able to beat a wired fiber connection. (I’d love to be proven wrong…)
I do look forward to the future of Starlink while I have it because they have launched several hundred satellites within the past months so there is a potential for improvements.
