Hello everyone! Welcome to my first Astroneer games ideas post. For this first post, I’m going to be suggesting/requesting handful of items.

 

Astroneer Game Ideas #1

  • Two seat or four seat buggies with similar resource requirements.
  • Extra large rover option. This rover will also be large in height, think like a walker but still on wheels.

  • Remove the limit of “train” trailers from 4 to either something higher or unlimited.
  • Add additional seating to the inside of the large rocket to fit up to 2 more players(3 total) before needing to attach seats onto the storage areas.
  • Add the ability to disable power usage for tool upgrades. For example the wide mod.
  • Add some admin tools for users who self host. Such as a screen that can monitor how many players are connected. See what planet players are on. If they are in space and not on a planet. If they are alive or dead. As well as easy admin controls such as kick, ban, unban, etc.
  • Add vehicle breaks or some sort of locking system similar to our base platforms. Having this would be extremely useful for parking vehicles on steep ramps. Having them auto lock on getting out being an option would be nice too.
  • Add a drone helper or mule. Something that acts as a craft-able entity that follows the player around and acts as another backup worth of space. Some things to consider, if it was to get stuck it needs to be able to teleport to the player. If a player gets into a space shuttle and leaves the planet, the drone needs to teleport to the player when they land at the new planet. Another alternative is the player need to set the drone into a state where it can be picked up to prevent it getting left behind.
  • Add the ability to upgrade the player backpack by some slots. The green blocks would be extra side nodes. The top of the power column would be only for utilities such as a work light. For example see picture:

  • More hostile threats to the player. I understand that AI may be complicated. So with that in mind lets think of some more threats.
    • Bring back storms.
    • Add derelict bases that have automated turrets that shoot similar to the plants that shoot projectiles.
    • Add traps/bombs around derelict bases.
    • Add an area of affect such as extreme radiation around extremely rare important items. (Get in there, grab and run).
    • More extreme threat ideas:
      • Creatures that roam a small area around other threatening plants to protect them. The creatures could be like acid spitters or something similar.
      • Flying creatures that are rare but can be encountered that drop acid from above.
        • They counter to the previous would be having the player have some sort of defense device, such as a defensive foam blaster. The foam globs can be launched at anything that poses as threat. The foam globs renders them static/frozen/no longer a threat.
