This game currently does not have a very good cosmetic system in place. The only way to have a cosmetic set is by collecting them from their special events or by purchasing them from the in-game store.

That said, there are lots of armor sets and just pieces of armor in general that look really cool but have terrible low-level stats. So sadly, you can’t strut your cool-looking armor in battle without getting totally destroyed.

That said, you can start collecting the items you find interesting and lock them with the item lock feature. Once they are locked you can designate a certain town or outpost where you can store your “just for looks” outfits. Then during special events, you can break out this armor and look like the coolest person in town.

Hopefully, the developers at Amazon Games/New World will implement a system where it allows you to put skins of previously discovered items onto other armor pieces.

Side note: Armor purchased from the store can’t be dyed. So that means you can’t change the colors on them. Which is another thing that they need to change.
